One of the nation’s leading database providers for private investigators, attorneys, collections, and related professions, Kalispel, Montana-based Merlin Information Systems ( announced a merger with Interactive Data (

In an email from Merlin president and former private investigator Mike Dores, he says Merlin is very excited about the new partnership. He adds that the “combination of the two companies will deliver a more robust, full-service product offering of automated data information and personally verified asset recovery solutions”.

Dores says Merlin users will have access to the same skiptracing products they currently do, with new and enhanced product offerings. Interactive Data currently offers its customers “a variety of search products, including Social Security, Active Duty, Real Estate Listings, employment & Bank Account Data, FDCPA Scrubs, Death Index, and Bankruptcy listing searches, as well as Data Warehousing and cost-efficient unmask-pricing for Directory Assistance. Leveraging more than 50 years of collections industry experience, ID creates relevant, customer‐focused searches that are both comprehensive and cost effective. Each of these products work seamlessly with ID’s advanced online and batch products. Interactive Data applications serve the collections, healthcare, financial, debt-buying and cable industries as well as law enforcement and government applications.”

Database companies such as these require users to document their permissible purpose, or legal reason, for the search such as the service of process, or licensed private investigator activities. Any user can be audited at any time for their use of the products.

Dores indicates that it is very likely, in the future, the two companies will become a single entity under one name.
